Wesley So, the youngest Filipino chess player who previously leads the Aeroflot 2009 Junior category and Corus 2009 Category C, moved to round 4 of World Chess Cup 2009 held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia after eliminating one known chess grandmaster GM Gata Khamsky (ELO 2695) from USA on the 3rd round of the chess tournament. The World Chess Cup 2009 is scheduled to held from 20th of November to 15th of December, 2009. With So’s win with the known GM of the tournament including GM Vassily Ivanchuk (ELO 2739) from Ukraine which he convincingly made to resign on the 2nd round and amazing games on the tournament, he placed the name of the Philippines in the news of the said chess cup.
