Arum: Pacquiao-Mayweather Will Not Happen

Pacquiao vs. Mayweater?

Pacquiao vs. Mayweater?

I have mentioned on my other posts that there’s no Pacquiao vs. Mayweather that will happen in the future because of some rumors that Pacquiao might retire after his fight on November. Actually this is also expressed by the Top Rank chief promoter of Pacquiao – Bob Arum for different reasons. In his recent interview from the Ring magazine, he said “I don’t think (Pacquiao-Mayweather) will happen within the next year because of all of Mayweather’s posturing, the trash talk. That impedes any realistic negotiations. It would just be too difficult.” Even Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s trainer expressed the same thoughts as Arum.

He believes that there’s a lot to be negotiated and distractions of the said possible event. Specially with splitting of the ‘pot’ involved on the fight.

The Pacquiao vs. Cotto boxing event will happen this coming November 14 at MGM Las Vegas and everybody is waiting for this for now and Mayweather-Pacquiao is still a thing of the future that is not yet possible as of the moment. But of course there’s always possibilities that they settle things up and we might expect a new fight for Pacman – if in case he survives Cotto, which based on the interviews above, they think he can.
